The Youth Art Fund (YAF) was presented this Tuesday in an exchange with artists and students from Santiago de Cuba, during the 2nd René Valdés Cedeño Regional Contemporary Art Salon in that city.
Sandra García Herrera and Caridad Figueroa, representing the YAF, explained to the attendees how the platform is inserted in the promotion of emerging Cuban art in the current context.
Meanwhile, participants learned about the YAF’s call for proposals programs in the fields of music, visual arts and cultural enterprises, with the aim of offering opportunities to other young artists.
The event was also an opportunity to showcase the experiences of working with artists and institutions, and the instances of cooperation with donors and partners in the creative industries.
At the event, which will take place until October 6, the YAF will award a collateral prize consisting of funding for a creative project to be developed by the young artist whose work receives the accolade.
Organized by the Caguayo Foundation, the Contemporary Art Salon boosts creation in the eastern region of Cuba, makes visible and promotes different artistic practices and offers possibilities of approaching exhibition and commercialization circuits.
