Teatringestazione composes the dramaturgy of Altofest by combining the proposals received through the call with domestic spaces and their inhabitants, giving rise to a collective action distributed in different parts of the city. Kranj Foto Fest is looking for visually powerful and thought-provoking stories. Entries can include documentary photography, fine art photography and any other form of contemporary photography that explores the subject matter in a meaningful and impactful way. The UNESCO-EU Transcultura program launches a call for applications for its Caribbean Creative Lab
This call is launched within the framework of Transcultura: Integrating Cuba, the Caribbean and the European Union through Culture and Creativity, a five year program implemented by UNESCO's Regional Office in Havana with the financial support of the European Union. The overall purpose of Transcultura is to deepen regional integration in the Caribbean and strengthen cooperation and exchange among peoples in the region and with the European Union.
In this context, the 'Caribbean Creative Lab' is an incubator aimed at creative and cultural entrepreneurs in the region, mainly those with an interest in the application of new technologies and digital solutions to business.
Selected entrepreneurs will participate in a variety of enriching activities designed to scale their businesses, benefiting from:
- One week of online training (March 17-21, 2025) on the impact of new technologies and digital solutions applied to business, including but not limited to: understanding digital transformation, data analytics for decision making, artificial intelligence in business operations, digital marketing strategies, and sustainability through technology.
- Personalized mentoring for the preparation and guidance of the business pitch deck. Once the challenges and the different business models selected have been defined, a network of experienced mentors from different relevant companies will prepare the participants to make a professional pitch deck focused on their business objectives.
- A one-week on-site residency (March 31 - April 4, 2025) in Havana, Cuba, designed to apply their newly acquired skills and knowledge to their business. Participants will have the opportunity to learn how to improve and focus their business more effectively and professionally in competitive environments. Through one-on-one mentoring, they will connect with European experts, who will offer their skills and experience to serve the startups. In addition, they will connect with relevant people in their sector and will have the opportunity to create alliances and potential business opportunities.
- Networking opportunities. During the program, an approach and an effective exchange between business facilitators, corporations and investors will be encouraged. The initiative will be a place of connection between the different agents and an opportunity to create strategic alliances that will propitiate an exponential growth of Caribbean entrepreneurship, weaving an ecosystem within the cultural and creative industries.
To be eligible for the UNESCO Transculture Program's Caribbean Creative Lab, entrepreneurs must be between the ages of 18 and 35 and be citizens and legal residents of one of these 17 Caribbean countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago.
A Selection Committee, composed of experienced professionals, will select a maximum of 10 young Caribbean entrepreneurs, based on their track record and business initiative/project.
