On the afternoon of Thursday, September 14, the Youth Art Fund (YAF) inaugurated the photographic exhibition Habana, un alma palpable (Havana, a palpable soul)<\/em>, bringing together the work of several young Cuban photographers who illustrate multiple interpretations of the city through their lenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a favorable occasion to introduce for the first time in an YAF exhibition the new Ambassador-designate of Switzerland in Cuba, H.E. Mr. Stefano Vescovi, who thanked the audience and collaborators, and acknowledged the work done by the platform in order to promote and develop the work of young artists and creators of the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are able to say that today, the Fund has become a reality for artists, projects, ventures, institutions and organizations linked to Cuban culture: an important achievement that we are happy about\u201d, said Vescovi.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

According to Sandra Garc\u00eda, curator of the exhibition, the selection of works tried to escape commonplaces to transmit, from intangible forms, the ways and looks through which these artists inhabit and unravel the city that they have also made their own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOf course there\u2019s the coastline, the architectural profiles, Carpentier\u2019s<\/em> columns and the children playing freely in the streets; but no one would talk about Havana without thinking about that vibrant artistic and cultural scene that has filled its decades, without thinking about the music, about its nights brimming with young people who are just discovering life and only care about the present. No one leaves Havana without remembering its people.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Also present were collaborators and beneficiary artists of the Fund, as well as special guests: Ms. Perla Rosales, Deputy Director of the Office of the Historian of the City of Havana, Mr. Nivaldo Carbonell, president of the Los Carbonell Foundation, as well as guests from the diplomatic corps and other project partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition will be open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. until November, at the Sal\u00f3n Blanco of the Youth Art Fund, located on Churruca Street, between Avenida del Puerto and Oficios. San Francisco de Asis Convent. Old Havana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
