First Call for Proposals Program – Sustainability of Cultural Entrepreneurship
In Havana since 2023. This initiative was conceived by the Centro Cultural y Creativo La Manigua, a local development project in the process of being set up and made up of 4 permanent staff members and 4 collaborators. La Manigua is a space dedicated to children for learning, experimenting and having fun. Taking advantage of the dizzying advance of digitalization in society, the initiative aims to influence the building of skills among those populations with fewer opportunities, and thus contribute to reducing inequality gaps.

Specifically, the project seeks to develop creative and artistic skills in children and adolescents in the Havana neighborhood of La Timba, as an instrument of cultural inclusion and social cohesion. The idea is to stimulate the children’s creativity and sensitivity through an approach to the visual arts, specifically photography. The project will address issues such as gender, environmental sustainability, race and violence, through partnerships with visual artists such as Claudia Raymat, May Reguera, Nany Luz Clara, Daniel Arévalo and Eduardo Reyes.

The YAF supports the La Timba Crea Lab initiative through the acquisition of equipment and production, in addition to methodological support and advice from CIERIC specialists.

The modalities of collaboration are flexible, as are the contributions. It is in our interest to establish co-financing agreements with entities that support operationally and/or financially, for example, specific calls for proposals. These specific actions managed by the Fondo de Arte Joven may have awards such as:

  • exhibitions in their respective art centers in Cuba and abroad.
  • donations of musical instruments and working materials for artists
  • national and international art residencies
  • publications
  • academic experiences
  • promotion
  • support for creative processes
