Frequently Asked Questions
Artists or cultural entrepreneurs who meet the requirements of each call for proposals
The Fondo de Arte Joven finances, through its program of calls and awards, creative projects and cultural undertakings, individual or collective, innovative, of high quality that correspond to the bases and requirements of each call.
Creative projects shall be understood as the planning and execution of a set of activities aimed at developing an idea or a cultural product (e.g. production of works and/or exhibitions, support for creative processes, publications, promotion, among others).
Among the cultural enterprises, eligible activities are linked to the various stages of the cultural cycle, such as:
- Creation: Exploration and conception of content that constitutes the raw material of cultural industries.
- Production: All the elements (supplies, equipment, professionals) necessary for the realization (materialization) of cultural expressions.
- Dissemination: Commercialization, distribution of a live artistic manifestation (concert, festivals, exhibitions, etc.).
- Promotion/exhibition: Activities aimed at the public so as to facilitate the understanding of a work or marketing means used to increase the audience, media advertising, market analysis, etc.
The Fondo de Arte Joven announces periodic calls for proposals through its website and social networks. To apply, you must complete an online form and submit the required documents, such as a detailed description of the project, budget and previous work developed. Discover the calls for proposals available at the top of this page.
Deadlines for submitting applications may vary according to each call for proposals. They are usually announced well in advance so that interested parties can prepare their projects. All details are available in the Call for Proposals section.
In addition to the periodic calls for proposals, the Fondo de Arte Joven offers multiple opportunities such as consultancies, workshops, academic residencies and other collateral activities that promote, on an international scale, the work of emerging artists and cultural enterprises from the Global South, as well as their professional training.
The projects are selected by a committee of experts in each artistic discipline, who evaluate the quality, originality and cultural impact of the proposals submitted. Other requirements are also considered, such as the technical and economic viability of the projects. You can meet the people who have been part of our juries here.
The YoungArt Fund receives many applications and it is possible that not all of them can be funded. However, the Fondo de Arte Joven offers the possibility of submitting an annual funding application to each artist not previously selected. In addition, the platform offers other opportunities for emerging artists, such as mentoring, workshops, academic residencies and other collateral activities.
Our team will contact you as soon as possible.
