The Fondo de Arte Joven (FAJ) in the framework of the project "A Ritmo de Inclusión" co-financed by the European Union (EU), opens the second call of malaYerba. Young Art Contest. Aimed at visual artists between 18 and 35 years of age competing in painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, installation, video installation, performance, video art and digital art.

Curatorial Projects:
The Fondo de Arte Joven (FAJ) in the framework of the project "A Ritmo de Inclusión" co-financed by the European Union (EU) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), opens its first call for Curatorial Projects.
The purpose of this call is to support research and the development of curatorial work, with the aim of promoting the professional activity of young Cuban curators, as well as contributing to the visibility of their careers.

FAJ Mural Contest:
The Fondo de Arte Joven (FAJ) in collaboration with the INMOR Group and within the framework of the "Creative Zones" project, co-financed by the European Union (EU), launches the Mural Contest, dedicated to celebrate the second year of the creation of the cultural platform and the establishment of the INMOR brand in Cuba. Water is lifein its commitment to society and culture.
We invite visual artists, artist collectives, designers and/or creative groups, with a special interest in muralism, to present mural projects to intervene the lateral façade of the first factory of the INMOR group, located in Cotorro, Havana, Cuba.
The call aims to support emerging creative processes, in dialogue with the new business contexts -also emerging- promoting the construction of a collective identity that functions as a basis for the establishment of a commitment to corporate social responsibility, with the contribution of private companies to the professional activity of young creators and the projection and consolidation of their careers, through our platform.
The area to be intervened will be indicated in photographs and graphics attached to this call.

First Edition of the National Music Contest.
A collaboration between the Fondo de Arte Joven and UNICEF Cuba, aimed at musicians in formal or informal training (academic or self-taught), of Cuban nationality, residing in Cuba, between 12 and 18 years of age.
The purpose of this call is to promote creative processes that favor the spiritual growth, creativity and expression of adolescents, and have a positive impact on their artistic and professional training, within the framework of the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The Fondo de Arte Joven (FAJ), within the framework of the "A Ritmo de Inclusión" project, co-financed by the European Union (EU) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), announces a call for proposals for the following projects cultural and creative ventures/projects/initiatives with priority in the music and visual arts sectors.
The objective of the call is to support cultural and creative enterprises with priority in the music and visual arts sectors, which contribute to the cultural/economic and social development of the territory.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Fondo de Arte Joven finances creative projects, especially in artistic disciplines such as visual arts and music, as well as cultural enterprises with a focus on local development. Projects may be individual or collective and must be innovative and of high quality.
Creative projects shall be understood as the planning and execution of a set of activities aimed at developing an idea or a cultural product (e.g. production of works and/or exhibitions, support for creative processes, publications, promotion, among others).
Among the cultural enterprises, eligible activities are linked to the various stages of the cultural cycle, such as:
- Creation: Exploration and conception of content that constitutes the raw material of cultural industries
- Production: All the elements (supplies, equipment, professionals) necessary for the realization (materialization) of cultural expressions
- Dissemination: Commercialization, distribution of a live artistic manifestation (concert, festivals, exhibitions, etc.)
- Promotion/exhibition: Activities aimed at the public so as to facilitate the understanding of a work or marketing means used to increase the audience, media advertising, market analysis, etc.

The Fondo de Arte Joven announces periodic calls for proposals through its website and social media. To apply, you must fill out an online form and send the required documents, such as a detailed description of the project, a budget and a description of previous work developed. Discover the calls for proposals that are available at the top of this page.
The deadlines for submitting applications may vary according to each call for proposals. In general, they are announced well in advance so that interested parties can prepare their projects. All details are available in the Call for Proposals section.
In addition to financing innovative and high-quality projects, the Fondo de Arte Joven offers artists professional support, as well as the possibility of exhibiting and publicizing their work in different cultural spaces and events. It also provides opportunities for academic mobility and further education.
The projects are selected by a committee of experts in each artistic discipline, who evaluate the quality, originality and cultural impact of the submitted proposals. The Fondo de Arte Joven receives many applications and it is possible that not all of them can be funded. However, the Fondo de Arte Joven offers the possibility of submitting one annual application for funding to each artist who has not been selected previously. In addition, the Fondo de Arte Joven offers other opportunities for emerging artists, such as mentoring, workshops and collateral activities.
