Youth Excellence Award - Academic Movility
Mario Salvador Rodríguez Morales (Havana, 1999), or simply Mario Salvador, is a young tres player, graduated from the National School of Arts in 2017 and studied until the third year at the University of the Arts (ISA). In 2020 he released his debut record “Ciudad Fantasía”, under the label Empresa de Grabaciones y Ediciones Musicales (EGREM). That year he also recorded the collective album "Masintín", which was released in June 2022 with New York label 577 Records, dedicated to compiling and producing what they consider most relevant in the world of improvisation, contemporary jazz and avant-garde. Experimentation has led Mario Salvador to defining his own voice, and has earned him the Grand Prize at the JoJazz Festival 2017. In 2022, he presented his latest album entitled "Le Mat", with a wide range of musical expression.

Mario Salvador had obtained an opportunity for academic advancement at Berklee College of Music, University of Boston, Massachusetts, which he would have missed had it not been for the support of the Fondo de Arte Joven, which collaborated in this case as one of its first actions in the field of academic mobility.

  • exhibitions in their respective art centers in Cuba and abroad.
  • donations of musical instruments and working materials for artists
