“The Project” is another of the winning initiatives from the call for proposals Start with Music. It is a multifunctional space in Vedado, Havana, that integrates film screenings, a concert hall, and a recording and filming studio. Additionally, it has a play area, a kitchen/bar, and a young community as its main audience.

Its purpose is to become a music creation hub for young artists on the Havana scene, fostering production, training, and cultural dissemination. It offers local creators—with an emphasis on Centro Habana and Plaza de la Revolución— the opportunity to develop musical projects in dialogue with the community.

With the support of the Creative Zones Old Havana project, funded by Italian Cooperation and implemented by CISP and CIERIC, in collaboration with FAJ, the space will be adapted and technical equipment will be acquired to guarantee cultural services such as recording, concerts, filming, and training workshops.

The call for applications Start with Music It was presented in February as a collaboration between Zonas Creativas Centro Habana and FAJ. It was aimed at entrepreneurial and cultural and creative initiatives, with a priority on the music sector, with the objective of fostering the creation and strengthening of projects, promoting cultural innovation and sustainability, as well as generating new professional opportunities for young people and women.
