Dayron Ortiz (Havana, 1989) is an outstanding guitarist, composer, director and music producer graduated from the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory of Music in 2011, director and founder of the group La Tropa since 2021. Throughout his career he has performed with important Cuban and international artists such as Miriam Ramos, Omara Portuondo, Fito Páez, Celeste, Ivette Cepeda, among others. He has also worked as musical director for the performers Haydée Milanés, Idania Valdés and Telmary & Habana Sana.

In 2021 he released his Opera Prima entitled SER, which features prestigious guest artists such as Ruy Adrián López-Nussa, Jorge Coayo, Ernán López-Nussa, among others. This album earned him the Cubadisco Award from the Cuban Institute of Music, in the Instrumental Music category (2022).

The Fondo de Arte Joven (FAJ) supports the recording of the album Mucho más que palabras, in collaboration with the Colibrí record label and the ABDALA studios. This project seeks to defend and rescue Cuban identity through music, based on ten songs by legendary composer Marta Valdés.
