First Call for Proposals Program - Support for the production of Creative Projects.
Rolando Galindo Pérez (Artemisa, 1993) graduated in Painting from the Eduardo Abela Provincial Academy of Visual Arts in Mayabeque, Cuba and is currently in his fourth and final year of Visual Arts at the University of the Arts (ISA). His work is mainly based on painting. He held his first personal exhibition, “Audio Track” (2022), at the Servando Cabrera Gallery. He has to his credit numerous group exhibitions such as Hot Line (2023), at La Nave Gallery or Vertigo (2022), at the Galería – Taller Gorría. Also noteworthy is his participation in the 14th Havana Biennial and in the 10th National Conference on Contemporary Art “Arte Proceso”. In 2016 he had a joint exhibition of landscapes at the Palacio de Saltillo Museum, Coahuila, Mexico and later, in that same country, he was part of the Monclova Arts Festival, at the Coahuila-Texas Museum.

The Youth Art Fund (YAF) supports the personal exhibition project “Bolero para Stendhal”, whose project is the culmination of the artist’s studies at the Cuban University of the Arts (ISA), with the production and printing of the exhibition’s catalog, thus contributing to inserting him, already as an artist graduated at the higher level, in the Cuban artistic context. Additionally, the YAF team provides accompaniment and methodological advice.

The modalities of collaboration are flexible, as are the contributions. It is in our interest to establish co-financing agreements with entities that support operationally and/or financially, for example, specific calls for proposals. These specific actions managed by the Fondo de Arte Joven may have awards such as:

  • exhibitions in their respective art centers in Cuba and abroad.
  • donations of musical instruments and working materials for artists
  • national and international art residencies
  • publications
  • academic experiences
  • promotion
  • support for creative processes
