Abel Lescay (Mayabeque, 1999), is a piano graduate, professor of Piano and Theory, and piano accompanist at the National School of Art (ENA) in 2017. .

His work has been recognized with a mention in the JoJazz competition for young talents in 2019, in the composition category. He was also the winner of the grant “El Reino de Este Mundo”, from the Asociación Hermanos Saíz (AHS), together with the project “Reflejo de la Piedra en el Agua”, of which he is founder, pianist, arranger and musical director together with singer and composer Frank Mitchel..

In 2020 he recorded the album “Al Pie del Arbol”, at the Teatro del Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in 2020. Then, in 2022 he recorded his first solo phonogram “grllxs”, released in November of that year..

The Fondo de Arte Joven (FAJ) supports the project “La Memoria de Bejucal”, which seeks to rescue the traditional music of the Villa de San Felipe y Santiago del Bejucal, and make it available to its inhabitants, Cuba and the world. The research and subsequent recording production of this young musicologist, compiles the music of the territory that is still alive, guided by that generation knowledgeable of the ancient songs and traditional music of Bejucal.
