In Artemisa since 2023. It is an enterprise coordinated by independent creator and self-taught artist Sediel Cabrera Furones. The initiative also brings together 5 other artists, all of them precursors of a space for inclusion and gender equity.
It is part of the efforts to dignify the artistic work of women printmakers in Cuba, an artistic exercise not exempt from sexist stereotypes over time. In that sense, Tinta Roja: Taller de Gráfica Experimental para Todos (Red Ink: Experimental Graphics Workshop for Everyone) aims to become a complementary engine, a generator of alternatives and dynamic changes from the visual arts, through the specialty of printmaking, for young artists and with an emphasis on women.
The project will focus its work on the socio-cultural transformation of the vulnerable community of Toledo, in the municipality of Artemisa, and will articulate a close synergy of commercial sustainability of the works of young artists, mainly women, with the "Tiempos" Creative Group of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets.
The YAF supports the Tinta Roja enterprise through the acquisition of equipment and materials for the creation of the printmaking workshop, as well as support for the production of its launching, in addition to methodological support and advice from CIERIC specialists.
