The Alma String Quartet was created in 2016 by Amaya Justiz, with the aim of promoting and performing classical and contemporary repertoire written for the format, as well as collaborating with different performers of concert music.
Its members include Amaya Justiz Robert (Cello), Yosmara Castañeda Valdés (Viola), Camila Crespo Ramírez (Violin) and Liliet Silva Carmenates (Violin). The ensemble has participated in all editions of the Festival La Ruta de Mozart since 2018, the Festival de las Artes de la Universidad de las Artes (ISA, 2018 and 2019) and in the Mozart-Havana Festival (2018).
Since 2020 the quartet has been collaborating with Leo Brouwer's Oficina Ediciones Espiral Eterna, performing and recording his works written for this format as the

The Fondo de Arte Joven supports the project Leo, el Alma imprescindible, which consists of the recording of Maestro Leo Brouwer's String Quartet No. 7, dedicated especially to the String Quartet Alma. This composition is the result of a series of collaborations between Ediciones Espiral Eterna and the quartet since 2021, with the aim of interpreting and disseminating the Maestro's music.
